Johanna Kimball, CPA

Johanna Kimball prides herself on the knowledge, business acumen and technical expertise she brings to bear for her clients. As she explains, "I partner with each of my clients to provide a framework for getting organized and staying that way so that they are always prepared for tax season and investment opportunities. I started my own accounting firm because I enjoy working with small business owners, and helping them envision and achieve success."

A Certified Public Accountant, Johanna has received extensive training in the field of accounting and spent several years with KPMG--one of the world's leading accounting firms--before opening her own office. She served as a Senior Associate at KPMG, and was responsible for supervision and training of audit staff, budgeting, planning, and maintaining strong client relationships. Johanna also worked with corporate clients to audit and review SEC filings, assessed annual reports to shareholders, and evaluated internal accounting controls for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements.

Today, her firm provides a wide range of services for clients including accounting, audits, finance, risk assessment, internal controls and general operations. As Johanna notes, "We're adept at working with and managing the small details so integral to business success, while still keeping our eye on the big picture for each client."

Originally from Texas, Johanna earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and speaks fluent Spanish. Johanna also belongs to the United Way's Young Leader's Society and Women's Giving Network, and is a member of Texas Society of CPAs.

Camilo Hernandez, Managing Director

Camilo brings more than 10 years of exceptional experience managing people projects and processes to his role as Managing Director. He has a passion for "bringing out the best" in the people he serves, which has enabled him to build successful business relationships across a variety of industries. He notes, "If you truly serve others and help them pour their talents, passions and humanity into their business, then you can't help but provide extraordinary customer service."

With knowledge and expertise acquired from years of work with every business class from entrepreneurs to companies with millions of dollars in annual sales, Camilo has the business skills and leadership ability essential to helping clients manage accounting deadlines, implement payroll, prepare tax plans, and develop budget and cash-flow forecasts. He also specializes in building strong management teams, instituting best business practices, and helping clients maximize their competitive advantages.

Camilo earned a bachelor's degree in finance and international relations as well as a master's degree in International Finance and Capital Markets. He has served as assistant to the Director of Public Credit at the Ministry of Finance in Columbia, been a Risk Executive under the Vice Presidency of Operations at the Bogota Stock Exchange and held the position of Vice President of Finance at AAG--where he managed all aspects of international finance, banking, accounting, and tax preparation. Currently, he is securing State of Texas status as a Certified Financial Planner.

Tabatha Brown, CPA

Tabatha started her career at Arthur Andersen, LLP working primarily on IPO's in the consumer and industrial market segments. Her focus was facilitating IPO roll-ups and acquisitions, fraud prevention and SEC filings. She left Arthur Anderson and joined Mann Frankfort Stein and Lipp, LLP, a Houston CPA firm, where she was responsible for the second largest client in the office prior to joining KPMG. At KPMG Tabatha worked with a variety of public and private clients in the manufacturing and high-tech market segments internationally, as well as in Austin and Houston, Texas.

During a two-year rotation internationally, her primary focus included risk management and IFRS to US GAAP conversions. Tabatha became the only manager in the Austin office qualified to audit IFRS engagements and managed all deliverables associated with her public clients' buy out by a private equity group and subsequent debt offering. As a Senior Manager, Tabatha took great pride in partnering with her clients and providing excellent client service.

Tabatha received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Houston and is currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas. She is a volunteer for the United Way Women's Leadership Council Board and is a member of the Young Leader's Society and Women's Giving Network.
